On Friday, April 25th, Governor Patrick Morrisey signed two firearm industry protection bills, HB2067 and HB3342, into law. NRA and fellow Second Amendment advocacy groups joined Governor Morrisey for a ceremonial bill signing today, April 28th.
NRA thanks Governor Morrisey, all legislators who supported these bills, and all NRA members and fellow Second Amendment advocates who engaged this session to ensure these critical protections became law.
HB2067, The West Virginia Firearm Liability Clarification Act, provides liability protections for firearm industry members from third-party misuse of products they manufacture or sell.
HB3342, The Firearm Industry Nondiscrimination Act, prohibits public entities from entering into contracts with businesses unless they certify that they do not discriminate against firearm businesses. Anti-gun corporations, banks, and their executives have expressed interest in denying services to the firearm industry as a way to further their political agenda and impose gun control. This bill will ensure that West Virginia taxpayers are not funding businesses that discriminate against the firearm industry. For more information, click here.
