On Thursday, May 1st, the New Hampshire Senate is scheduled to hold a vote on HB 551, a pro-gun bill that removes the local licensing requirements for firearm dealers. HB 551 would repeal the requirement for federally licensed firearm dealers in New Hampshire to gain approval from local municipal governments before being able to operate their business. Repealing this requirement ensures that local bad actors cannot block or impose unnecessary fees on federal firearm licensees and protects New Hampshire's robust firearm industry, which provides thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic benefit to the state.
