On Friday, May 9th, the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee held a hearing and voted on an amendment to SB 54 that would require the NRA's Hunter Education, Eddie Eagle GunSafe, or equivalent programs to be taught in New Hampshire schools. After a lengthy discussion, the bill and amendment were favorably passed out of committee. This bill now heads to the floor of the House of Representatives, where it will receive a vote.

SB 54 is a public safety bill that includes a provision to teach NRA-style gun safety training in New Hampshire schools. If passed, this bill would install age-appropriate curriculum that includes, but is not limited to, the NRA's Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program, NRA Firearm Safety Training, and NRA Hunter Education.
