In a special ceremony, NRA-ILA Nebraska State Director Travis Couture-Lovelady presented former Senator Tom Brewer with the NRA-ILA Defender of Freedom Award in recognition of his tireless efforts to defend liberty and protect the interests of law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen in Nebraska.
Senator Brewer worked tirelessly to get Constitutional Carry/State Preemption passed. For seven straight sessions he introduced the bill and fought hard for its passage including making it his priority bill. Not only did his bill make Nebraska a constitutional carry state, but Omaha and Lincoln’s draconian local gun control ordinances were preempted by the state, including the Omaha gun registry.
"On behalf of our members within the State of Nebraska, The National Rifle Association of America extends our deepest appreciation for your unwavering efforts to defend the Second Amendment through your landmark legislation making Nebraska a constitutional carry state and ensuring uniformity in state gun laws through firearms preemption," said State Director Couture-Lovelady.
As a recipient of the NRA-ILA Defender of Freedom Award, he joins an esteemed list of individuals who have gone "above and beyond" in the fight to defend the Second Amendment.
Please join us in congratulating state Senator Brewer for receiving NRA-ILA's Defender of Freedom Award.
