Senate Joint Resolution 8, introduced by Senator Huffman, proposes adding a new section to Article I of the Ohio Constitution to permanently protect the right to hunt, fish, and harvest wildlife. The resolution recognizes these traditions as an important part of Ohio’s heritage while preserving the ability of the state to promote wildlife conservation and management. It also affirms that hunting and fishing remain preferred methods of wildlife management while respecting private property rights.
