Maryland: Expanded Firearm Storage Mandate Scheduled for Committee Hearing

Tomorrow, the House Judiciary Committee will hear House Bill 1608, legislation that would dramatically expand firearm storage mandates in Maryland. Please use the Take Action button below to contact members of the House Judiciary Committee and respectfully urge them to OPPOSE HB 1608.

HB 1608 would require firearms, loaded or unloaded, to be locked in expensive “fire, impact, and tamper-resistant” storage containers whenever they are not carried or under the direct control of the owner, with violations carrying escalating penalties including fines and potential firearm possession prohibitions.

NRA-ILA will continue to monitor this legislation and keep Maryland gun owners informed of further developments affecting their Second Amendment rights.
