Missouri: Public Transit Carry Bill Passes House

Wednesday, May 6, 2026

On Tuesday, May 5th, the House passed Senate Bill 1421, which incorporates language from SB1078, the public transit carry bill. House Amendment 30, introduced by Representative Mike Costlow, provides that individuals with a valid concealed carry permit or endorsement are permitted to carry a firearm while using public transit. Carrying on public transportation is prohibited under current law.

SB 1421 now returns to the Senate for consideration. Please contact your Senator and encourage them to SUPPORT SB 1421 as amended by using the TAKE ACTION button below.

The legislature is scheduled to adjourn on Friday, May 15th. Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox as the end of the 2026 session approaches.
