In March, gun owners and NRA members across the state contacted their lawmakers. As a result, Attorney General Davenport reluctantly began updating the NJ Permit to Carry Dashboard, which reports statistics on the approval and denial of licenses across the state.
However, this episode only strengthens the obvious need for A.222. The bill is straightforward legislation that would simply mandate proper reporting on the licensing of a core constitutional right, including denial statistics by race, ethnicity, and gender.
While the dashboard has been updated through March 31, gun owners and the public at large are still patiently waiting for the AG’s office to decide whether it will publish April data.
Please continue to contact lawmakers using the TAKE ACTION button below and respectfully urge them to support A.222.
Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox for updates.
