This Wednesday, the Senate Executive Committee will hear SS1 for SB 300, which would create a statewide firearm registry and impose burdensome new requirements on gun stores that could drive many out of business. The bill would require FFLs to create electronic databases tracking every firearm’s make, model, serial number, acquisition and disposition dates, and the identity of every buyer. Please use the TAKE ACTION button to contact your State Senator and ask them to oppose SB 300.
SS1 for SB300 creates new mandates for dealers including high end surveillance cameras and video storage, burdensome storage rules, frequent state police inspections and tiered licensing fees based on how many guns a dealer sells. This legislation duplicates federal law and will do nothing to improve public safety.
