Recent ATF Action Shows Need for Suppressor Reform
As we reported last week, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) denied approximately 850 Form 1 applications for prospective makers of suppressors on February 28. These denials were apparently made due to a change in ATF policy regarding certain devices that ATF claims are in reality suppressor “parts kits.”

Eastern Europeans are increasingly exercising their natural right to keep and bear arms. In late February NRA-ILA noted the Ukrainian government’s plans to arm ordinary citizens as part of the national defense against the Russian invasion. This week came news of soaring guns sales in the nearby Baltic state of Lithuania.

TSA finds firearm in anti-gun California lawmaker’s luggage
According to several media reports, on March 3 California Assemblyman Jim Cooper (D-09) was traveling through a security checkpoint at Sacramento International Airport when the Transportation Security Administration found a loaded gun in his baggage. The Sacramento Bee reported that the firearm was detected by an X-ray screening machine in what was described by Cooper’s Capitol Office as a “male messenger bag which looks like a purse.”
