On Monday, the Texas House Public Safety Committee will consider two NRA-backed bills: HB 2656 (by. Rep. Phil King), which would require resource officers in public elementary schools to instruct students in NRA`s Eddie Eagle GunSafe accident prevention program; and HB 2784 (by Rep. Bill Carter) which would require the Department of Public Safety to report statistics only on CHL holders who are convicted of weapons-related offenses or violations of the Right To Carry law, rather than on non-weapons related offenses.

Please contact members of the Public Safety Committee and politely urge them to support both HB 2656 and HB 2784:
