Senate Bill 33, Right to Carry Reciprocity, has been approved by the North Carolina State Senate by a vote of 46-3. This bill will give valid carry permit holders from states that have similar issuing requirements as North Carolina the ability to carry their firearm for personal protection in North Carolina. This, in turn, will encourage more states to recognize North Carolina permits. SB 33 now heads to the House for consideration.
Please contact the members of the Senate to thank them for their support. Also, please take a moment to contact your Representative and urge them to support Reciprocity legislation when it comes before them in the House. Remind them that a law-abiding citizen`s right to protect themselves and their families should not end simply because they have crossed state lines.
