Important Missouri Pro-Gun Legislation Still Needs Your Help!

Friday, April 27, 2007

On Monday, April 30, the Senate Government Organizations and Elections Committee will hear House Bill 845, sponsored by State Representative Bob Dixon (R-140). HB845 will require the Missouri Secretary of State to provide voter registration information to non-registered resident hunting license and fishing permit applicants. Combined, there are more than two million hunting license and fishing permits issued in Missouri, and the passage of HB845 will ensure that resident sportsmen will have the opportunity to make their voices heard on Election Day.

Also, House Bill 462, sponsored by State Representative Brian Munzlinger (R-1), has been passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee and is now headed to the Senate floor. HB462 would repeal Missouri's outdated, arbitrary and redundant "permit to acquire" a handgun, and treat handgun purchases the same as long gun purchases.

Please contact your state Senator at (573) 751-3824 and urge him or her to support and vote for both HB845 and HB462 in their current forms.

Finally, Senate Bill 62, "Castle Doctrine" legislation sponsored by State Senator Jack Goodman (R-29), is currently pending on the House calendar. This critical protection of your right to self-defense could be heard on the House floor at any time!

Please contact your State Representative at (573) 751-3659 and strongly urge him or her to support and vote for SB62.
