On Tuesday November 27, Assembly Bill 581, introduced by Assemblyman Scott Gunderson (R-83), was heard in the Assembly Committee on Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. AB 581 would prevent the state of Wisconsin from restricting the possession, transfer, sale, transport, storage, display, or use of firearms or ammunition during a declared state of emergency.
There was a great turnout of NRA members to speak on behalf of AB 581 in the hearing, but we need to keep up the momentum for a favorable vote on Tuesday, December 4 during the executive session. Please contact the members of the Assembly Committee on Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and respectfully urge them to pass this important legislation.
