Kentucky Right to Hunt and Fish Amendment Passes Committee!

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Please contact your state Representative today

Today, February 8, NRA-backed House Bill 1, Kentucky Right to Hunt and Fish legislation, passed the House Elections, Constitutional Amendments, and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee by an 8 to 0 vote.  This bill could be heard as early as this Thursday, February 10, on the House floor.

HB 1, sponsored by state Representative Leslie Combs (D-94) and House Speaker Greg Stumbo (D-95), would propose an amendment to the Kentucky Constitution recognizing citizens’ right to hunt and fish.  This legislation would provide truly meaningful protections against the anti-hunting activists who seek to ban all hunting in America.  The ultimate adoption of this constitutional amendment would preserve Kentucky’s rich hunting and fishing traditions for future generations.

Please contact your state Representative TODAY and respectfully ask him or her to support HB 1 without amendments.  Your state Representative can be reached by phone at (502) 564-8100.  Further contact information can be found here.  If you need help identifying your Representative, please click here.
