After hearing noises coming from the upstairs of his Stony Landing, S.C. home, Cecil Barwick retrieved a handgun and went to investigate. On the stairs, Barwick encountered a masked intruder attempting to steal one of his guns. Barwick opened fire, killing the intruder. After becoming aware of a second intruder, Barwick retreated to a neighbor’s house and called 911, at which point the second thief fled the scene. With the help of a K-9 unit, police captured the second thief a short time later.
