Campus Protection Act to be Heard in the Nevada Senate TOMORROW

Senate Bill 231, the Nevada Campus Protection Act, will be heard in the state Senate TOMORROW. Please call and e-mail your state Senator and respectfully urge him or her to support SB 231. For contact information or help identifying your state Senator, click here.

Introduced by state Senator John Lee (D-1), SB 231 would allow individuals who hold a Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit to carry their firearm on the property of the Nevada System of Higher Education without first gaining permission from the university president, which is currently mandated by statute. It has been a long-held policy within the campus administration to not allow permit holders to carry, which has created an environment where students, faculty and staff are left defenseless in gun-free zones.
