On Monday, the Pleasant Hill City Council went in circles trying to decide what to do with an ordinance that would require all firearms dealers to obtain a police-issued permit from the City in order to lawfully sell firearms and ammunition in Pleasant Hill.
Vice Mayor Jack Weir took the lead and asked a number of questions, including to the city Police Chief who confirmed that there had been no problems with any firearm dealers in Pleasant Hill. Even with this confirmation of no wrong-doing Mayor Michael Harris and Councilman Timothy Flaherty still insisted this ordinance is necessary. The council decided to postpone their vote on this ordinance to their next meeting scheduled for Monday, October 21.
