West Virginia: Range Protection Bill Passes House of Delegates

Today, the West Virginia House of Delegates unanimously passed Senate Bill 575. This important legislation will now move back to the Senate for a concurrence vote. Please contact your state Senator and urge them to concur on House amendments to SB 575.

SB 575, sponsored by state Senator Charles Trump (R-15), protects sport shooting ranges from frivolous lawsuits and noise complaints. SB 575 seeks to protect sport shooting ranges from legal actions which aim to restrict or prohibit range usage. In the past, anti-gun activists have used frivolous lawsuits and noise complaints to put legally operating sport shooting ranges out of business. If a range is in full compliance with the law, it should not be subjected to unreasonable court fees, hiatus or closure.

Again, please contact your state Senator and urge them to concur on House amendments to SB 575.
