NRA Endorses Gov. Brian Kemp in Georgia Primary

Fairfax, Va. - The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to announce its endorsement of Brian Kemp for governor in the 2022 Georgia primary election.

"Brian Kemp has been a steadfast supporter of our constitutional right to keep and bear arms for nearly two decades," said Jason Ouimet, chairman, NRA-PVF. "Gov. Kemp has never wavered in the fight to expand and protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Georgians."

As governor, Kemp has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to protecting and advancing the freedoms enshrined in the Second Amendment. No where was his commitment more evident than his recent signing of Georgia's constitutional carry law earlier this month. With his signature, every law-abiding Georgian who can legally possess a firearm may now carry that firearm for self-defense without a permit from the state.

In addition to constitutional carry, Kemp also:

Signed House Bill 218 to grant universal recognition of concealed carry permits held by out of state residents.
Directed the attorney general to enter into formal reciprocity agreements with any state that requires a formal agreement to recognize a Georgia Weapons Carry License.
Signed Senate Bill 72 to allow hunting in wildlife management areas and increases the number of deer tags available to each hunter.
Issued Executive Order 04.02.20.01 to ensure gun stores can remain open during states of emergency.
Gov. Kemp has earned an "A+" rating for the 2022 primary election. This is the NRA’s highest rating and is reserved for elected officials who vigorously support the Second Amendment and our hunting heritage.

“The NRA is proud to endorse Gov. Brian Kemp and encourages all NRA members, gun owners, hunters and sportsmen to vote for Brian Kemp in the upcoming Republican Primary election,” Ouimet concluded.

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
