This bill establishes grade-appropriate curricula guidelines for firearm safety education to students of all ages, using the tried-and-tested NRA's Eddie Eagle GunSafe® program and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism's existing Hunter Education In Our Schools.
Unfortunately, this is the second time Governor Kelly has vetoed this important bill, despite its overwhelming bipartisan support in both chambers. Our children's safety should always be a top priority, and the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program has been doing just that for over 30 years, reaching over 32 million children across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
