Colorado: FOID Bill Rescheduled for Hearing on Tuesday

Colorado: FOID Bill Rescheduled for Hearing on Tuesday

Following a series of delays, the House Judiciary Committee scheduled Senate Bill 25-003 for a hearing on Tuesday, March 11th. NRA and fellow advocacy groups are sponsoring a pro-2A rally at the Capitol in protest of SB25-003 on the date of the hearing.

It is critical for all NRA Members and Second Amendment advocates in the Centennial Sate to stay engaged and contact your elected officials in opposition of SB 25-003! Please consider submitting testimony AGAINST SB 25-003 through the General Assembly website, and continue to contact Governor Polis' office at (303) 866-2471 or by email at [email protected]. Use your voice to oppose this unconstitutional bill and prevent it from advancing any further!

Senate Bill 25-003 creates a "permit-to-purchase" scheme for banned semi-automatic firearm platforms. To be eligible to apply for the "permit-to-purchase," Coloradoans would either need to complete a 12-hour educational course or show proof of a valid concealed carry permit or hunter safety certificate and complete a four-hour firearm education course.

House Bill 25-1238, placing undue restrictions on gun show vendors and organizers, was passed on second reading and is expected to receive its final vote this week. Additionally, House Bill 25-1258 was defeated in the House Agriculture Committee Friday night, which would have posed a grave threat to hunting and fishing across the state.

We can anticipate anti-gun members of the General Assembly will continue their attacks on the Second Amendment. Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox for future updates as the session progresses.
