Yesterday, the House voted 78-34 to pass House Bill 759, which restores the ability for young adults to acquire firearms by lowering the minimum age requirement to purchase from 21 to 18. The Senate companion, Senate Bill 920, has yet to receive a policy hearing in the Senate. House Bill 759 and Senate Bill 920 restores the ability for young adults to acquire firearms by lowering the minimum age requirement from 21 to 18. For this legislation to progress in the Senate, SB 920 must first receive a policy hearing in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee.
