Senate Bill 94, Senate Bill 920, Senate Bill 1716, & House Bill 759 restores the ability for young adults to acquire firearms by lowering the minimum age requirement to purchase from 21 to 18. It is now up to the Senate to pass the legislation.
In addition, pro-gun companion bills, House Bill 6025 and Senate Bill 952, protecting our Second Amendment Rights during a state of emergency, are on the move. HB 6025 is eligible for a House floor vote this week and SB 952 is scheduled for a policy committee hearing in the Senate Rules Committee on Tuesday, April 8, at 9:00 AM.
House Bill 6025 & Senate Bill 952 repeal automatic prohibitions that violate Floridians’ Second Amendment rights during a state of emergency. The following acts are automatic prohibitions that this legislation would repeal: the intentional possession of a firearm in public, the sale of any ammunition or firearms, and the intentional display of ammunition or firearms in a store.
