Next week, the House is scheduled to take up three important pro-gun bills on the House floor. With legislative deadlines quickly approaching, it is critical that you contact your state representative using the Take Action button and urge them to support HB 1493, HB 1794, and HB 3053!
House Bill 1403 by Rep. Cody Harris, protects the privacy of foster families by prohibiting child placement agencies from requiring foster parents to disclose the specific types or quantities of firearms kept in their home. It also ensures any such information remains confidential if collected.
House Bill 1794 by Rep. Carrie Isaac, removes the prohibition on licensed handgun carriers from possessing firearms on the premises of polling places during early voting or on Election Day. This legislation would help reduce confusion caused by inconsistent and arbitrary “gun-free zones.”
House Bill 3053 by Rep. Stan Gerdes, prohibits municipalities and counties from using public funds to organize or participate in firearm buyback programs. These programs have proven ineffective at reducing crime and often waste taxpayer dollars.
