A new California law this year requires handgun buyers to pass a written test and show they know how to handle a gun before they can purchase it, among other requirements. But just how difficult is it? Justin Orr of San Jose found out last week while pistol shopping at Target Masters West, a gun shop in Milpitas, when manager JoAnn Kritzer ticked off the requirements: "Thirty-question written test; driver`s license; $25; proof of residency, such as a utility bill; demonstrate loading and unloading a dummy round safely; 10-day waiting period; background check."
