Norfolk Won`t Pursue Bill To Ban Guns In Public Places

City officials in Norfolk, Va., are giving up for now on their quest to keep guns out of some public meetings. The City Council had hoped to regain some authority to regulate guns that was stripped last year by the General Assembly. Currently, local officials can`t ban guns from public facilities, such as city halls, unless the bans existed before 1987.
