On Thursday, February 3, the House Public Safety Committee failed to vote on House Study Bill 17, as had been previously scheduled. However, this bill was debated in an unscheduled subcommittee committee and the following state Representatives strongly and vocally defended your gun rights: Matt Windschitl (R-56), Tom Shaw (R-8) and Mark Brandenburg (R-100).
The House Public Safety Committee is now expected to consider HSB 17 sometime within the next two weeks and could be heard as early as next Tuesday, February 8. Anti-gun members of the House Public Safety Committee are still planning to try to weaken the provision by removing the term “carry.” By doing so, the provision would provide less protection from infringement in
