State Senator Vows to Scuttle Nevada Campus Protection Act

It has come to the NRA's attention that Nevada Senator Michael Schneider (D-Clark County, No. 11), the lone dissenting vote against Senate Bill 231, is actively working to undermine this critical self-defense measure.  SB 231, the Nevada Campus Protection Act, introduced by state Senator John Lee (D-Clark County, No. 1), passed in the Senate Government Affairs Committee on March 24 and is awaiting second reading by the state Senate. 

SB 231 would allow individuals who hold a Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit to carry their firearms on campus.  There is a chance that SB 231 could be procedurally stalled if we do not keep a close eye on its progress.  This is why it is important that gun owners continue to contact their state Senators and ask that they support this important right to carry measure.

Please ask your state Senator to support SB 231 and let him or her know that any procedural vote will be counted by the NRA.  Contact information for your state Senator can be found by clicking here.
