Hillary: Contempt For The Truth And American Freedom

There is no greater danger to American liberty and to the security of our nation than a Hillary Clinton administration. To see the future if Clinton were to take the White House, look no further than her record—her long history of abuse of power, deception and corruption.

On Second Amendment-protected liberty, not even President Barack Obama can top her lifelong, anti-freedom record. As President Bill Clinton’s first lady, she was instrumental in his unrelenting gun-ban policy and is credited by the media as being the inside force behind his hostility toward peaceable gun owners.

As a U.S. Senator, Clinton was deeply allied with her fellow New Yorker, Chuck Schumer, and demanded national gun owner licensing and firearm registration as a “good first step.” In her campaign for the presidency now, she embraces what would be her last step, her ultimate goal—a confiscatory firearm destruction program modeled on Australia’s plan, where a million firearms were taken from licensed owners and destroyed. Translated into comparable U.S. confiscations, Clinton would take and destroy 40 million firearms owned by law-abiding Americans.

If she could, Clinton would ban every gun, destroy every magazine and run our entire law-abiding firearm industry into the ground.

In all of this, Clinton’s attacks are designed to erase our fundamental right to survive and protect ourselves. She has said the U.S. Supreme Court was wrong in recognizing the Second Amendment as a fundamental individual right guaranteed to every American to protect themselves and their families and their communities.

But Clinton’s danger to America goes beyond the threat she poses to the Second Amendment.

Just look at Clinton’s scandal-ridden tenure as the U.S. Secretary of State, a tenure defined by a pattern of mocking the rule of law, an approach that goes to the heart of destroying our national security. As we are seeing—with new revelations unearthed nearly every day—the hallmark of her tenure as secretary of state was one of lawlessness, corruption and lies.

Were she to assume the highest office in the land, that abuse of power would spread to every level of government agencies, weaponized to attack groups like the NRA that Clinton has declared as the “enemy.” And were she to pack the federal courts, abuses would be rubber-stamped as the law of the land.

There has never been a sense of public service in Clinton’s behavior. There is only personal greed, a lust for power and a shocking arrogance. It’s how she’s able to look Americans in the eye, with a straight face, and deliberately lie about her attempts to hide her official email. Think about the destroyed official government records, her personal server tucked away in a closet in her home, intended to hide official communication from any public view.

Think about the serial breaches of national security laws where Clinton used an unsecured, unencrypted personal email system sending classified texts to individuals who possessed no security clearance.

Think about the vulnerability to hackers. Think about illegal handling of classified documents that were declared by the courts as too sensitive ever to see the light of public day.

In all of this, after months of investigations by hundreds of FBI agents, what many experts saw as clearly criminal acts didn’t rise to the level of prosecution.

All of this prompted U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, to conclude: “It seems that there are two standards. ... It seems to a lot of us that the Average Joe, the average American, if they had done what you laid out in your [FBI’s] statement, that they’d be in handcuffs.”

That rebuke brought into sharp focus the nation’s cultural divide between Washington elites and average citizens—who gets protected and who goes to prison—in a deceit that defines these national elections.

This is the same Justice Department that oversaw the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) “Fast and Furious” scheme by which firearms were feloniously purchased from licensed dealers under the watchful eyes and approval of federal agents, and illegally smuggled into Mexico. That smuggling operation resulted in the murders of countless Mexican nationals and was discovered only after the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent on our soil.

It’s the same Justice Department that has done nothing to prosecute the rogue leaders in the ATF who dreamed up and executed this murderous scheme.

It’s the same Justice Department that refuses to prosecute armed violent felons who are making our cities war zones.

This is the same Justice Department—if Clinton takes the White House—that will become an instrument of retribution against those who oppose Clinton and those who fight for the Second Amendment.

From her throne at the State Department, Clinton’s history is littered with failures. The 13 hours of Benghazi, all of Libya on fire, all of Syria on fire, a nuclear Iran, a brazenly emboldened Russia, an expansionist China.

You can bet that Obama’s weakening of the U.S. military—with a severe reduction in forces, coupled with failure to update equipment and resources to the most modern standard—will be amplified in a Clinton presidency. All of this in the face of the Islamic terrorist threat that is now operating on our shores.

As secretary of state, Clinton lied to the families of the fallen heroes of Benghazi while standing in front of their flag-draped caskets, claiming that a video inspired the terrorist violence, yet did nothing to protect these brave Americans when they pleaded for help in staving off the terrorist attacks.

As NRA members—as patriotic Americans who love our country and cherish our freedoms—we must use our power at the ballot box to stop Clinton’s plans to erase the Bill of Rights and impose her cynical and deceitful mindset that will surely guide her policy decrees from the White House.

On Nov. 8, “We the People” get the last word by voting to elect Donald J. Trump as president. And we must vote to retain and expand our pro-freedom U.S. House and Senate, or all that we’ve fought for and accomplished these past decades and throughout our lifetimes will be lost. Standing together, using the power of our votes, we will save our freedom and our country.

Executive Vice President, NRA

Since 1991, Wayne LaPierre has led the NRA through a period of unprecedented membership growth and political clout in defense of our Second Amendment rights. And that strength has been put to the good benefit of NRA members and gun owners. In large part because of Wayne's leadership, Right-to-Carry is now the law in 41 states. All 50 states have enacted laws to protect shooting ranges, and all 50 passed legislation to protect hunters from harassment.
