Urgent Action Needed: Protect Your Second Amendment Rights in Colorado

Your Second Amendment rights are under attack in Colorado. Yesterday, April 2, the Colorado legislature passed two anti-Second Amendment bills, Senate Bill 23-170 and Senate Bill 23-169, and they are now on Governor Polis's desk for signature.

Senate Bill 23-169 denies Second Amendment rights to young adults aged 18-20 by prohibiting them from purchasing firearms. This is an unnecessary restriction on personal freedom and choice, as these adults are old enough to vote, join the military, and enter into contracts without parental permission.

Senate Bill 23-170 expands Colorado’s “red flag” gun confiscation scheme, allowing for the confiscation of firearms based on mere speculation and hearsay evidence, without due process of law. Such orders are designed to empower the government to confiscate Americans’ firearms and indefinitely delay Second Amendment rights.

The proponents of these bills have used flawed examples to push their agenda, and statistics show that red flag laws do not stop criminals from obtaining firearms through illegal means.

This is not about public safety, but about politics. The anti-gun majority simply wants to pass more bills to satisfy their gun-banning base.

We urge all NRA members and Second Amendment supporters to contact Governor Polis now and ask him to oppose Senate Bills 23-169 and 23-170. Protect your Second Amendment rights in Colorado before it's too late.

Thank you for your continued support in defending the Second Amendment.
