Virginia: More Gun Control in House Public Safety Committee

On Friday, January 31st, the House Public Safety committee will hold a hearing on several anti-gun bills. It's critical that NRA members and Second Amendment supporters contact committee members today!

Contact the members of the committee directly by using the TAKE ACTION button below and urge them to OPPOSE all gun control bills!

Anti-Gun Bills:

HB1607 bans certain semi-automatic firearms manufactured after July 1, 2025, including many semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns. Additionally, HB 1607 arbitrarily limits magazine capacities and discriminates against adults who are 18-20 years old.

HB1876 prohibits firearms within buildings owned by public academic institutions, allowing only those that are to be utilized in an official program or during a sanctioned activity.

HB1977 increases the number of locations that qualify as "gun-free zones."

HB2631 mandates a five-day waiting period before a law-abiding citizen may take possession of a legally purchased firearm.

Pro-Gun:

In addition to the anti-gun bills, a pro-gun bill will also be considered tomorrow. House Bill 2202, introduced by Del. Freitas, allows for a person to carry a concealed firearm without seeking government permission (permit), so long as the person is eligible to obtain a concealed handgun permit and not otherwise prohibited by law.

More anti-gun bills are likely to be filed this year, so please continue to check www.NRAILA.org and your email inbox for NRA-ILA alerts on the latest action items.
