On Thursday, March 6th, House File 13, improving Minnesota's self-defense laws by removing the duty to retreat, unfortunately failed on the House floor by a vote of 66-66. This legislation would have helped level the playing field for law-abiding citizens, eliminating the requirement that a victim flee from an attacker prior to exercising their inherent right to self-defense.
Though HF13 will not advance this session, the fight is not over! Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox for updates as this legislative session progresses.
