Today, Senate Bill 706, recognizing all valid out-of-state carry permits, passed the Texas House and now heads to Governor Greg Abbott’s desk for his signature.
SB 706 requires Texas to recognize all valid out-of-state concealed carry licenses. This NRA- and TSRA-backed priority legislation would bring Texas in line with twenty other states that already recognize permits issued by any other state. Universal recognition of concealed carry licenses is not only critical at the state level, but it remains a top federal priority through legislation like H.R. 38.
Your NRA-ILA will continue to monitor this legislation and keep you informed on all Second Amendment developments in Texas.
