Iowa Department Of Natural Resources To Hold Regional Meetings

Wednesday, February 18, 2004

Iowa’s outdoor recreation and conservation funding program – REAP – will be discussed during a series of regional meetings to be held over the next two months.

The Resource Enhancement and Protection Program funds Iowa’s city, county and state parks, soil, water and habitat improvements, roadside prairies, historical development and conservation education.

At 16 regional meetings around the state in February and March, Iowans will develop lists of natural resource investments needed in their communities to enhance their quality of life and improve their economic condition.

The REAP assembly agenda includes election of delegates to the REAP Congress in Des Moines in July, a 25-year future look at natural resource needs in their region and inputs needed to improve the performance of REAP.
