NRA Endorses Greg Gianforte for Montana’s Special Election to U.S. House of Representatives

Tuesday, March 28, 2017

Fairfax, Va. — The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today announced its endorsement of Greg Gianforte for the May 25, 2017, special election for the U.S House of Representatives in Montana.

“Mr. Gianforte has a true commitment to the protection of our constitutional rights,” said NRA-PFV Chairman Chris W. Cox. “His opposition to the banning of lawfully-owned firearms, magazines, and ammunition as well as his support for national concealed carry reciprocity legislation makes Mr. Gianforte an ideal representative for the people of Montana.”

The special election was set following the March confirmation of former Montana Rep. Ryan Zinke as Secretary of the Interior. Gianforte won his party’s nomination at their March 6th convention.

“The NRA is honored to endorse Greg Gianforte and appreciates his support of the Second Amendment,” continued Cox. “The NRA encourages all Montana gun-owners, hunters and sportsmen to vote for Greg Gianforte on or before May 25th.”

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
