Alert: Leon Commissioners to Vote on Gun Control Ordinance

Friday, March 30, 2018

She’s baaaaaaack!  Once again Leon County Commissioner Mary Ann Lindley is pushing a county gun control ordinance for Leon County.

She is pushing it even though Sheriff Walt McNeil expressed concerns over how the Sheriff’s Office would enforce the ordinance, saying legal and manpower issues would preclude the Sheriff’s Office from staffing gun shows. In other words, he would have to use your tax dollars to put law enforcement officers at gun shows.

Mary Ann Lindley is so rabidly anti-gun she is determined to impose these restrictions on law-abiding gun owners and force the financial burden on the Sheriff’s Office and the tax payers of Leon County.

Lindley doesn’t even pretend that she cares about crime, criminals or have any legitimate reason for passing it, she just wants to pass some gun control before she leaves office.  She is quoted in the Tallahassee Democrat saying, “I realize this is symbolic in large part, but it’s also practical. And it is something that in our community we can do and I feel we need to do.”

This is the same failed ordinance Mary Ann Lindley pushed in 2013 that was drafted for her by Roy Blondeau, who represents NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s various gun control groups Everytown for Gun Control and “Moms Demand Action.”

The Commission will hold a public hearing on April 10th and then vote on an ordinance to restrict the rights of law-abiding gun owners punishes innocent gun owners.

This is being driven gun ban organizations and it’s up to you to help stop it. Please email all Leon County Commissioners immediately
