On February 10th, the West Virginia Senate voted 30-2 to pass Senate Bill 96 to strengthen West Virginia’s preemption law. SB 96 will now move to the House for further consideration. Please contact your Delegate and ask them to SUPPORT SB 96.
Senate Bill 96 prevents municipalities from restricting a number of tools that law-abiding citizens carry with them every day. Preemption legislation is designed to stop municipalities from creating a patchwork of different laws throughout the state that turn a law-abiding citizen into a criminal for simply crossing a jurisdictional line.
Again, please contact your Delegate and ask them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 96.
