Pre-Filing of Gun-Related Legislation Continues in Texas: Here Are the Measures Affecting Your Second Amendment Rights So Far

NRA-ILA reported to you on the record number of anti-gun bills that were introduced on November 9, the first day of pre-filing for the 2021 Regular Session of the Texas Legislature.  Opponents of your Second Amendment rights immediately demonstrated how they will attempt to force the Bloomberg/Beto radical gun control agenda on law-abiding Texans.

We are two weeks into pre-filing and there are already nearly 60 firearm-related measures that have been put forth by lawmakers for consideration next year when the legislative session convenes on January 12.  Bill introduction will continue through March 12, so this number could easily triple. Below are highlights of pro- and anti-gun bills filed to-date.

NRA-ILA will update this list of pro- and anti-gun bills periodically through the holidays and leading up to session.  We will inform you as to when the Texas House and Texas Senate websites are updated to include newly-elected legislators' contact information.  There is a handy Who Represents Me? link on the Texas House website for you to find out who your State Representative and State Senator are.  We will also notify you if and when any of these bills are scheduled for committee hearings, how hearings will be conducted, and how testimony will be taken from the public once session begins.

If you know of fellow gun owners who do not currently receive legislative alerts from NRA-ILA, encourage them to sign up for those here: https://www.nrailafrontlines.com/join.  We will need your help to advance legislation protecting and advancing our rights in the Lone Star State, and to defeat extremist gun control measures!
