Legislative Bill 883 repeals the Nebraska's firearm permit-to-purchase requirement. Expediency is more important than ever when it comes to the right of self-defense. Legislative Bill 925, a bill to adopt the FIND Act at the state level, recently passed out of committee. LB 925 prohibits public contracts with individuals or companies that are boycotting certain industries, including those that engage in or support the manufacture, distribution, sale, or use of firearms. This bill would require those who contract with the state to disclose if their policies discriminate against the firearms industry.
Legislative Bill 1339, a bill to change provisions relating to possession of firearms in schools allowing teachers and staff the ability to carry on school grounds, was passed out of the Senate Education Committee. The bill also allows for off-duty or retired law enforcement personnel to carry firearms on school grounds.
