Virginia: Gun Bills to Receive Hearing Tomorrow

Tomorrow, two committees in the Virginia General Assembly will meet to consider gun legislation.

The Virginia Senate Courts of Justice Committee will consider pro-gun bill, Senate Bill 948.

SB 948, sponsored by pro-gun Senator Richard Stuart (R-28), would prohibit the sharing of information on concealed handgun permit holders with law enforcement in states that do not have reciprocity agreements with Virginia.

Please contact members of the Senate Courts of Justice Committee and recommend that they pass SB 948 favorably out of Committee.

Also tomorrow, the Senate Committee on General Laws and Technology will meet to consider Senate Bill 848.

SB 848, introduced by pro-gun Senator Bill Stanley (R-20), would establish a marksmanship award to recognize the top 20 competitors in each of the rifle and pistol Excellence-in-Competition matches conducted annually at the Virginia State Championships.

Please contact members of the Senate Committee on General Laws and Technology and recommend that they pass SB 848.

Your NRA-ILA will continue to update you as other gun-related bills are scheduled for hearings in the Virginia General Assembly, and we will continue to stand guard against any bills that would be an affront to your Second Amendment rights.
