Oklahoma: Pro-Gun Constitutional Amendment Strengthening the Right to Keep and Bear Arms Passes House

Yesterday, House Joint Resolution 1034 was passed by the Oklahoma House of Representatives and will now be sent to the Senate. HJR 1034 would amend the Oklahoma constitution to enshrine the strongest protections for the right to keep and bear arms. Please contact your senator today and ask them to SUPPORT HJR 1034!

House Joint Resolution 1034 is a proposed amendment to Oklahoma’s state constitution that would clarify protections for arms in common use, ammunition, and firearm components to be used for protection, lawful hunting, and recreation. The amendment would prohibit any law from imposing registration or special taxation upon the keeping of arms including the acquisition, ownership, possession, or transfer of arms, ammunition, or the components of arms or ammunition. Simply put, it says your God given right shall not be infringed! 

Thank you to Speaker Charles McCall for serving as principal House author and for helping usher the resolution through the House. Once HJR 1034 passes through the state legislature the amendment would be brought before the people of Oklahoma for a vote on the November ballot.
